I was assigned to walk around Rotterdam and to keep my eyes open for lines in public space that I find very interesting. I thought the best way to do this is to take my sketchbook with me and draw rather than take photographs, because this seemed like a better way to me to isolate a specific element in an environment and put it into the main focus.

These are the drawings I made. All of them have been made in familiar places. However by picking out the lines only from what I see, they almost become completely abstract. All of the drawings have very different lines in them and the contour goes from harsh and rectangular to soft and natural.
